Out of school hours care

Morningside State School - Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is run by the schools P&C Association.

The service provides care for Before School, After School, Vacation breaks and on Pupil Free Days for primary-aged children in the community. Before school care operates from 6:30am to 8.30am and After school care operates from 3.00pm till 6:00pm. We are closed for all public holidays and two weeks over Christmas.

The children are offered breakfast and afternoon tea and the staff are highly qualified and cater to their differing needs. Morningside State School OSHC provides a quality school age child care program in a caring, safe and stimulating environment that enhances children’s development through a variety of activities, such as sports, arts and craft, cooking and games. We concentrates on outcomes such as developing a sense of identity, each child’s connection and contribution to their world, children’s health & wellbeing (physical, social & emotional), and children becoming involved learners and effective communicators.

Our current licensed capacity is 140 children per service and we are licensed under the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2011. We must comply with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2011 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011. This includes requirements about activities, experiences and programs, the numbers of staff members, children and staff member’s qualifications. For more information on these regulations please visit Education Queensland’s Office for Early Childhood Education and Care

Vacation Care program

Each school holiday OSHC runs a Vacation care program. A Vacation care registration form must be completed for each Vacation care program throughout the year. Every Vacation care program will be released to the OSHC Webpage two weeks prior to the commencement of each Vacation care period. All forms can be downloaded and viewed from the links on this page.

During the first week the program will be released and available for booking for Morningside State School State School OSHC parents only, thus giving them one week priority for bookings. During the following two weeks the booking will then open to students from Morningside State School.
